Episode 8 - QUARANTINED!

On this episode, we're QUARANTINED! Hosts Dwight, Swain and Adrian pick a movie that we think captures the spirit of what the entire planet is going through right now.
Our respective picks are 'John Carpenter's The Thing', 'Mad Max' and '12 Monkeys'. And while these are very different films, they share a common trait: People living in isolation who are forced to deal with an outside threat.
Our movie discussion is fast and loose at best. But really, it's an opportunity for us to emote over the current state of affairs.

Episode 7 - Trailer Trash

On this episode, we talk 'Trailer Trash'! Hosts Dwight, Swain and Adrian watch a handful of movie trailers and let the prognostications fly. In the discussion, we get into whether each trailer was effective, did it make us want to see the film, and did it stand out from all the rest -- in short, pass it or trash it.
Up for review: Bad Boys for Life, Birds of Prey, Bloodshot, New Mutants, Top Gun: Maverick, No Time to Die, Black Widow, and Wonder Woman 1984.

On this episode, we celebrate the 20th anniversary of 'The Matrix'. The 1999 cyber-thriller starring Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne, Carrie-Anne Moss and Hugo Weaving literally changed the game with groundbreaking special effects, theme and casting choices.

Episode 5 - HBOs Watchmen

On this episode, we do a deep dive into the first four episodes of HBO’s 'Watchmen'. 
Created by Damon Lindelof (The Leftovers, Lost), this ambitious continuation of the 1986 limited comic book series boasts an all-star and diverse cast (Regina King, Jeremy Irons, Jean Smart, Hong Chau and Tim Nelson Blake).
While Lindelof’s 'Watchmen' differs in tone from the original comics, it remains faithful in its daring exploration of masked heroes, the human beings underneath and life in a dystopian society.
Dwight, Swain and Adrian jump around a bit but still manage to unpack much of the density in these first four installments. And yes, there are spoilers a-plenty!

With the monthly fees of Adobe Creative Suite making its presence known, the idea of paying for access to software as a service is becoming all too real. On the show, Dwight, Swain and Adrian discuss how this cost will impact the overall creative community as well as struggling young artists seeking to use these digital tools and programs.
Also in the conversation, we get into the inevitable 2020 streaming wars. Platforms like Netflix, Hulu and Prime Video have been around for a minute. However, as HBO, Apple, Disney and a host of others join the fray, will streaming media become the new satellite and cable TV?

Why are some styles timeless and seem as fresh today as in their particular heydays? Are there ingredients for a style to become classic?   

Episode 2 - The Boys

On this episode, hosts Dwight Clark, Swain Hunt and Adrian Johnson chop up the Amazon original series 'The Boys'. Adapted from the popular comic book series of the same name by writer Garth Ennis and artist Darick Robertson, 'The Boys' details a world where superheroes are treated almost as professional athletes and celebrities with endorsement deals, corporate sponsorships and the adulation of millions. However, there is a very dark undercurrent to these glorious heroes that is discovered by a rogue band of normal humans to bring down these 'supes' -- 'The Boys'.
We discuss 'The Boys' as a product of a post-'Watchmen' take on superheroes, how the characters are very much like your workplace and the many 'Oh S**t!' moments that the series delivers. 

Episode 1 - Game of Thrones

In this inaugural episode, hosts Dwight Clark, Swain Hunt and Adrian Johnson discuss the cultural phenomenon that is HBO's 'Game Of Thrones'. Based on the books by author George R.R. Martin, the television series has seemingly captured the zeitgeist and transcended every demographic since its debut in April 2011. 'Thrones' has absolutely asserted itself into the same pantheon as the greatest sci-fi/fantasy franchises like 'Star Wars', 'Harry Potter' or 'The Walking Dead'.
We chop it up over its impact on popular culture, its loyal fanbase and the backlash over the show's final season in May 2019.
